Oil & Gas Essentials

Target Audience

Technicians, maintenance and engineering personnel involved in the installation, maintenance, inspection and design of tubing systems in the oil and gas industry.

Overview

Upon course completion, students will have foundational knowledge on Swagelok tube fitting installation, basic tube bending techniques, and medium pressure FK fitting installation. Additional topics include vibration and motion, material selection, thread identification, and tubing selection and preparation. After completing this course, attendees should then take Inspection Essentials or Tube Bending Essentials, depending upon their functional responsibilities offshore. This course complies with BP specification GP 30-27.

Inspection Essentials

Target Audience

Engineering and inspection personnel involved in the design and inspection of tubing systems.

Overview

Upon course completion, students should be able to identify correct tube system placement, correctly install Swagelok tube fittings, identify mixed component fittings and the use of correct tubing type, point out common tube bending defects and how they impact a fluid system, identify compliant NPT thread installations, and demonstrate the correct use of thread tape. This course complies with BP specification GP 30-27.
